The search to replace Montecarlo and Zachariah appears to be over as we recently bought back 'Caramia Chum' who we sold as a weanling. Chum is by Pentland Peter Pan out of Caramia Lucinda, making him a 3/4 brother to both Montecarlo and Brodie. Chum is rising 3 and will be campaigned in led and ridden events this season by Dimity Davis and Bridget O'Bree.
Brodie has a new sponsor. Previously sponsored by 4 Seasons Equestrian Wear before they went bust, she is now sponsored by Show Parlour Browbands. Look out for her new sparkling pink browbands shortly, as well as details on how to purchase these exquisite browbands, lapels and hair ribbons at a great price.

On the 13th of August Chum arrived at our show stables at Seymour. Although tiny, he is huge in attitude and is progressing well under saddle. He will venture to the Pre Royal show at Bendigo on the 2nd of September where he will step out in a couple of led classes. Acceptances are out for Melbourne Royal in September. Brodie will be ridden by Olivia Richardson in the miniature turnout, and by Dimity Davis in both the novice and open ridden shetland classes. She will be competing on Monday the 25th of September in the turnout and novice ridden shetland classes, and on Tuesday the 26th of September in the open ridden shetland class. |
January
Such a very busy time with both ponies and people. We have been out a little this season, with good results at the Victorian Shetland Show at the lovely dry dusty Geelong Showgrounds. Thanks to Dimity for showing both Brodie and Chompa so well as always, and a special thank you to both Bridget O'Bree and Olivia Richardson who also had great success with the ponies. Olivia had her first solo pilot on Brodie, and I was very pleased when Brodie behaved impeccably as always.
On to VASA and the Summer Royal. Well done to Olivia who was Reserve Champion VASA rider under 8 riding Brodie, the only shettie in the class. What a star partnership!!! They also managed a 4th in the turnout at the Summer Royal. Chompa made the final in the VASA rsing star Shetland. He's a gem, and working like a true professional at only 3 years of age. Brodie managed a 5th in the led, and 3rd in the ridden, while Chompa was 2nd in his led at the Summer Royal. Onwards to Barastoc.....
JUNE 2008
With show season just around the corner, the ponies are anticipating a trouble free time. The ponies, (and myself) would like to take the opportunity to thank all the kids who have taken the time to show them so well. Without the kids, there would be no Superstar Saddle Shetlands coming out of this stud. Firstly to my stepdaughter, Dimity Davis, who had a glorious association with Brodie, from her first Newcomer Sash in 2003, through to her Barastoc 2007 campaign. Along the way she has also had an association with Zachariah, winning the Newcomer Shetland of the Year class, Chompa the pocket rocket, Caty, Caramel, Bol, and the beautiful Lynvale Lodge Stallion, Milton. Thank you also to Bridget O'Bree, for her early association with Lynda, then Caty, and for helping out with rides on Brodie and Chompa, and good luck with Zachariah for the upcoming season. To Olivia Richardson, who rode Brodie for a season, and taught me all about Leading Rein. And Rhys Goodwin, who picked up countless championships on Brodie when she should have been getting fat in the paddock. To Morgan Duell, who picked up the Barastoc ride on Bol at the last minute. I hope she doesn't think she's gotten out of it that easily, she still has a good Shetland year left! And finally to the Bird girls, Tahlia and Courtney. They put in endless hours getting all the ponies right, and are fantastic to have around the stables. So to all the kids, a huge thank you for what you've done, and hopefully this coming season will see some great results.
Two of our Superstar Saddle Shetlands have found new homes. Our little mare, Caramia Carmella has found her way to Fiona Eddy's place at Cobram, for her 4 year old daughter, while Lynvale Lodge Bollinger makes his way to Armidale in New South Wales to be part of the Donnellan family. Thank you to evryone who enquired about these two fabulous ponies.
Who will take their places? Stay tuned...
