Caramia Montecarlo was foaled in December 1993, and is by Pentland Peter Pan out of Caramia Lea. Monty always stood out, and attracted a huge following wherever he went. A big, 10.2 gelding, he firmly established himself as one of the best saddle shetlands around in the late 1990's and early 2000's. In 1998, Monty's first foray into the big big time, he was awarded Champion led gelding at the Victorian Shetland Show, followed by Champion ridden novice exhibit, Champion ridden open gelding, and Supreme ridden exhibit. Then followed many Champion and Supreme awards in both open and breed rings. Monty had days when he would bring home four or five championships from a show. Some of his more mentionable feats didn't occur at large events and include five championships running in the open saddle pony at St.Arnaud's Pony Club Summer Show and Winter Woolies gymkhana, including a Supreme Ridden exhibit at the Winter Woolies after being back in work for 3 days; The highest overall Dressage score at the Wimmera Equestrian Club's annual Dressage Competition; winner of the Wimmera Equestrian Club in house Horse Trials; Navigation ride winner and leading the groups home at the end of a 10 kilometre trial ride. Monty had many big show successes, was a regular finalist at Horse of the Year Shows, and secured wins at Royal and Breed Show Spectaculars. As he grew older he developed a strong dislike for the show ring and was retired to the paddock following the 2004 Victorian Shetland Show.
Caramia Zachariah is another glorious Shetland gelding, with the most stunning head that would attract attention wherever he went. Initially loaned out as a companion pony until he grew up, Zach was returned to us at 3 and a half to be broken in. His first show was the Victorian All Shetland Pony Show where he won all of his led classes and was Reserve Champion led Shetland Gelding, as well as placing in all of his ridden classes. Next Yarra Glen Ag, where he won the ridden Shetland, led Shetland Gelding and Open led pony classes before venturing to Werribee Park for Barastoc Newcomer Shetland of the Year. A superb workout with rider Dimity Davis saw him take the title, with the comment that, 'he walks as if he owns the place.' Zach was only lightly shown in the 12 months following, but his wins included Supreme Led Shetland at Seymour Ag, and led and ridden wins at the Victorian All Shetland Pony Show. The decision was made to sell Zach as it was felt we couldn't do him justice with our time commitments in other areas, so following the International Challenge at Barastoc in 2005, Zach went to his new home at Crestwood Stud with Sam Doolan. He has continued to excel in Led and Ridden classes.
Our current Superstar. Brodie needs no introduction to the show world. Since joining our show team at 3 and a half years of age she has excelled every season, winning countless Championships and Supremes in Led and Ridden classes. Brodie has achieved much of her saddle success with rider, Dimity Davis, and the two has forged a strong understanding. Although Brodie's forte is saddle classes, she is extremely versatile, winning Champion Performance Mare at the 2004 Shetland Performance Day, her only attempt at the event. She has also attended Pony Club, and has made the transition to the ultimate child's pony, winning many leading rein and first ridden classes.
Kids grow older and the time came for Dimity to hand the reins over to Brodie's new rider, Tahlia Bird. Their first major show together was Barastoc, and what a show it was. Making it through to the Final 10, Brodie and 9 year old Tahlia put together an awesome workout which saw them awarded runner up Shetland of the Year. Tahlia immediately reminded everybody that she and Brodie were now in next years International Challenge, so we should start planning!

Our rising superstar. Caitlyn has been campaigned for the past 12 months by star rider, Bridget O'Bree. Although 8 years of age, Caitlyn was given time to mature, and didn't commence her saddle career until 7 years of age when she was first shown under saddle at Barastoc Newcomer Shetland of the Year. Although she was only given one months work, Caitlyn managed a top ten finish among possibly the strongest newcomer shetland class to date. Since then, Caitlyn and Bridget have amassed many led and ridden championships, including a top 10 finish at VASA in 2006.
Caitlyn returned to our Seymour stables in July 2007 and was bought into work in October to hopefully prepare for some post EI shows. She can be a little difficult, so the task of riding her was left to Dimity, and Courtney Bird. A huge thank you to both girls who have her up and travelling so well. Her only show with us to date has been Barastoc 2008 where she was Runner Up International Shetland ridden by Dimity. She was beautifully ridden by Courtney in the Open class on Sunday, however under some controversy she was ommitted from the final 10.
